We are seeking a Manager, Product Marketing who is a strong Project Manager and storyteller, crafting compelling plans and visionary narratives about our products, services, and taking them to market. We’re well on our way -- but we need more people who can help us manage, tell, and sell that story to HR professionals. This role crafts and executes on the marketing plan; manages budgets; analyzes campaigns; and manages day-to-day tactical execution to support objectives.

Summary

The Manager, Product Marketing develops the marketing strategy for assigned programs and products. The Manager works in collaboration with product owners, segment managers and the communications team to articulate the value proposition, offer development and audience messaging. This role crafts and executes on the marketing plan; manages the product marketing budget; reports on and analyzes impact of each marketing campaign; and manage day-to-day tactical functions that support the goals and objectives of the organization.

Your typical day will include...

  • Creating and implementing integrated marketing plans for all certification, recertification, educational products and other non conference programs.

  • Setting strategic direction for campaigns, including segmentation philosophy, budget constraints, total campaign effectiveness, and Google Analytics results. Ensuring overall message, tone and design of products/programs is aligned with the SHRM brand and strategic plan.

  • Meeting regularly with client departments we support to check-in on revenue status, new changes to products and customer insight. Managing the product/program marketing budgets.

  • Overseeing the execution of direct mail, e-mail and advertising promotions with direct reports; including creative design, copywriting, editing, full print production and mailing initiatives with printer/mail house.

  • Overseeing and implementing the content updates of product/program webpages and ecommerce pages. Providing insight on updates or upgrades that may impact the product or program.

  • Manage relationships with third party vendors providing support for graphic design, printing, mail house services, mail list brokers, etc. This includes contract management, administrative management, relationship management and project oversight.

  • Providing marketing updates on a monthly or as needed basis to department clients. Overseeing certification lounge and special certification events at tradeshows.

  • Manage, train, and develop your team members to successfully achieve goals and objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, organizational, and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Direct mail and email marketing experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications—MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

  • Experience with marketing automation software.

Required Experience

THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications

  • 7-years of progressive experience in a professional marketing position or equivalent.

  • Experience in lead generation, collateral development, database segmentation, website analytics, customer relationship management systems, copywriting, proofreading and editing, e-mail marketing, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM marketing and project management.

  • Previous people management experience a plus
