Intern, Market Research
SHRM offers a summer internship program that is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while exploring a career with member associations. This internship is for full-time students enrolled in an accredited university.
The Market Research Intern will help support the Manager of Market Intelligence and the Market Research team in conducting as aspects of primary market research. These market research projects will produce insights to help inform decision-making throughout the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Document internal client requirements in research briefs
Devise sampling plans in accordance with research best practices
Program surveys utilizing Decipher Beacon’s software platform
Conduct data analysis and quality checks in SPSS (including frequencies, crosstabs, regression models)
Create reports of findings in PowerPoint (e.g. charts, graphs)
Be present for meetings to discuss research findings with clients
Coordinate and schedule internal meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/ability to use software programs: Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SPSS
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts
Ability to complete tasks with critical deadlines
Precise attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Must be actively pursuing a Master’s degree in market research, marketing, statistics, or I/O psychology
Knowledge of basic statistics including regression analysis
Past SPSS experience either through class work or internships
Experience with survey software programming a plus but not required
SHRM'S SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM IS FOR ACTIVELY ENROLLED STUDENTS PURSUING A BACHELOR'S, MASTER'S, OR PHD. RECENT GRADUATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
INTERNS ARE NOT PROVIDED HOUSING OR TRANSPORTATION/PARKING BENEFITS.
START DATE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 30TH, 2018
SALARY: $15.00 - $23.00 PER HOUR, DEPENDENT UPON DEGREE LEVEL.
